Disha Parmar and Rahul Vaidya were blessed with a baby girl on September 20. The duo recently hosted the naamkaran ceremony, which was attended by their close friends and family members. They have named their daughter Navya. For the occasion, while Disha wore a silk orange and pink sari, Rahul went for a dapper sherwani. Their little one was dressed in a pink frock with a matching headband.
When we reached out to Disha, she said, “We were looking for a girl’s name right from the beginning. Although I kept wondering what if we have a boy… we don’t even have a name. When we saw our baby girl, we were so happy and certain about the name Navya. We are glad to share it with everyone now. Rahul and I felt this name is an apt name as soon as we saw her. We said, ‘This is it, she’s our Navya.’ Her name means praiseworthy.”
The couple recently celebrated Diwali with their little one. In an interview a few days ago, Rahul had said, “We welcomed our baby during Ganeshotsav and now we celebrated another festival with her. Everything just gets more special when she’s with us. She was looking very cute when Disha dressed her up in a peach frock. She wore her first jewellery gifted by her grandparents. Our little one even dozed off in the middle of the aarti.”
He further added, “When we did the aarti, she was continuously looking at the thali and diya and trying to understand things around her. We are very thankful to God for this gift.”
Disha, who celebrated her birthday on November 11, a day before Diwali, said, “I had a very low-key birthday this year because as a new mom, there’s less time. But overall I enjoyed my birthday and Diwali with my baby. We clicked pictures together and it was a lot of fun.”
