Manasi Salvi, who was last seen in Junooniyatt, has just made an entry in the TV show Ghum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein. The show has taken a leap and Manasi is playing mentor to Savi (Bhavika Sharma).
Talking about her role, Manasi shares, “I want people to watch and connect with my character. This is a Maharashtrian character and I am happy to play this role because I am a Maharashtrian.
Many years ago, I did a Marathi show Asambhav and now after almost two decades, I am playing a Maharashtrian character. I enjoy wearing these saris and chandra bindis.”
Manasi quit her last show Junooniyatt within a few episodes. Ask the actress about it and she says, “I had relocated in February to Chandigarh for the show and all was going well. But after 12 episodes, I felt that things were not moving in the right direction and I decided to quit. There are no hard feeling and let’s say I was also missing home, and it was best to move back and look for something else. Sometimes you take up things thinking that they are perfect for you, but destiny has other plans. On a lighter note, I enjoyed my stay in Chandigarh and loved eating the Punjabi food there.”
Manasi was playing Gautam Singh Vig’s mother in the show. Was she unhappy with her role? She replies, “There were no issues with the role. I never take up anything if it is not substantial. Let’s say it was a short and sweet journey and it ended for the better.”
