A show’s success doesn’t define Neil Bhatt’s journey as an artiste. The reason why he wasn’t shocked by the news of his exit from Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin(GHKPM) after being a part of it for two-and-a-half years. He says, “A change in the storyline was needed for the show to get the much-needed push. Even though I didn’t expect a time leap, I wasn’t shocked by the development as I had an inkling of something major in the offing.
Somehow, I don’t react from the space of shock. GHKPM has given me enough to be satisfied, and I don’t believe in overstaying my welcome (smiles). I would rather exit a show on a high than stick around till the audience gets bored with my track. I do miss being a part of the show, but it’s also said that every good thing comes to an end.”
The actor doesn’t get attached to success. He says, “I don’t let popularity and failure affect me. After being a part of this industry for so many years, and having seen the ups and downs, I have realised that success is too fleeting. I have never been a part of the number race. Of course, good ratings boost the morale of the unit, but I don’t let it affect me. If my happiness depends on the ratings, I won’t be able to perform because my emotions will change every Thursday. I avoid ratings or success to decide the course for me, as I don’t enjoy working under pressure.”
On the personal front, the actor got married to his GHKPM co-actor Aishwarya Sharma in November 2021. Ask him if the couple is planning to go the family way anytime soon and he replies, “Who doesn’t want a complete family? That’s the plan somewhere down the line. We have discussed it but for now, we are concentrating on our careers. We have discussed it.”
