TV show ‘Barrister Babu’ will soon witness a new entry. The makers of the daily soap, which features Aurra Bhatnagar and Pravisht Mishra in lead roles, have approached Sayatani Ghosh to play a pivotal character. Though a cameo, the role has a lot of scope for performance, and it seems to be up her alley, as it also requires great dancing skills.
Informs a source associated with the show, “Sayantani will play a famous dancer at a brothel. Her character is layered and has various shades to it. Her entry will result in a major twist in the narrative and she will come to the aid of Bondita (Aurra) and Anirudh Roy Choudhary (Pravisht). Sayantani is the perfect choice for the part, as besides being a good performer, she is also a great dancer, which are the prerequisites for this character. We are currently in the process of finalising the details and graph for the character.”
Sayantani and the makers — Shashi and Sumeet Mittal — go a long way. Writer-producer Shashi was a part of the creative team of ‘Naaginn’ (2007), which catapulted the actress to instant fame. In fact, she is often dubbed as the original naagin of the small screen. Many years later, she played Kunti in the producer-duo’s mythological show, ‘KarnSangini’ (2018). Sayantani was last seen as a shape-shifting woman in the fourth edition of ‘Naagin’, which featured Nia Sharma, Jasmin Bhasin and Vijayendra Kumeria in lead roles.
Despite repeated attempts, we couldn’t reach Sayantani and Sumeet for comment.
