TV actress Shivangi Joshi, known for her role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is in her hometown Dehradun amid the nationwide lockdown. She tells us that she is spending time with her entire family after a gap of seven years.
“After seven long years, I’m getting to spend time with my entire family. I came to Dehradun on March 21, just a day ahead of Janta Curfew, as shoots were temporarily suspended in Mumbai. Since then, I’m housebound. At home, I have my grandfather, parents, my younger siblings as well as a cousin and his wife. I’ve been keeping myself engaged with painting, cooking and working out,” she says.
Besides, Shivangi has also been working from home. “I’ve done several campaign shoots as well as some special bits for my show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. They were telecast during the lockdown. These shoots take up nearly 2-3 hours of my time every day,” she says.
While her day goes in shooting and household chores, Shivangi says the evenings are reserved for her workout sessions. “I climb stairs and do zumba and yoga. At the end of the day, after dinner, we all sit together and play UNO or Tambola. If it weren’t for the lockdown, I would’ve never got to spend such a lovely time with my family,” she says.
The actress expresses happiness that she also got a chance to a acquire a new skill during this time. “I’m a baker-in-making right now. I’ve been making a variety of cakes and brownies for my family,” she says. And what does she misses during this period? “I miss shooting and my colleagues. I pray daily for this pandemic to end soon. Even though a lot of restrictions have been lifted, we must not go out unnecessarily. Together, we can fight this war,” she adds.
