Following the enormous success of the premiere season and season 2, the digital edition of Bigg Boss OTT is poised to return with its third season. The show is reportedly set to premiere next month, with the launch date slated for May 15.
Details about the show remain scant. However, rumors are circulating about ongoing negotiations with several high-profile personalities in talks with the producers.
Initially, there was speculation about the potential involvement of Vicky Jain, a former contestant from Bigg Boss 17, but he quickly dismissed these rumors.
Later, reports emerged about the show’s overtures to celebrities such as Dalljiet Kaur, Shehzada Dhami, and Pratiksha Honmukhe. The termination of Shehzada and Pratiksha from “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” due to alleged unprofessional conduct has sparked significant controversy.
However, the actors have remained silent on the issue. It is also reported that TV actor Arhaan Behll has been approached to participate in Bigg Boss OTT 3.
The inaugural season of the digital version was won by Divya Agarwal. The second season stirred up quite a buzz with its roster of participants.
The OTT version saw Salman Khan making his hosting debut in season 2, which premiered on June 17, 2023. The Grand Finale on August 14, 2023, saw Elvish Yadav crowned as the winner, with Abhishek Malhan finishing as the runner-up, marking a memorable chapter in the show’s history. Manisha Rani was the second runner-up.
Interestingly, Elvish entered the show as a wild card contestant and went on to lift the trophy. He is currently embroiled in controversies, with allegations suggesting his involvement in distributing snake venom at gatherings. He was arrested by the Noida police on March 17, but subsequently released on bail. A recent charge sheet filed by the authorities delves deeper into Elvish’s alleged connection to the incident, shedding more light on the ongoing investigation.
As for the reality show, it will be intriguing to see the lineup of contestants participating this season.
