Speculations have been rife over the female lead of Ekta Kapoor’s next. It has been reported that the makers have been contemplating between Shivangi Joshi of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame and Disha Parmar, who was last seen in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. We have now learnt that the deal is sealed, and Shivangi has bagged the part. As reported by us, Kushal Tandon has been finalised to play the hero in the show.
Informs a source associated with the project, “Shivangi is now confirmed and on board for the show. She will play the female lead, a journalist. Kushal’s and Shivangi’s characters will be shown at loggerheads in the beginning only to fall in love eventually. A mock shoot is expected to take place in a couple of days and the shoot will commence in 10 days.”
Shivangi made a special appearance and was seen in a double role in Ekta’s show, Bekaaboo. Talking about the coincidence, Kushal was almost finalised to play the male lead in Bekaaboo. However, the deal fell through at the last minute and the makers roped in Shalin Bhanot to play the hero. Eisha Singh plays the protagonist opposite Shalin in the show.
The daily soap will mark Kushal’s return to the small screen six years after his last outing with Beyhadh, which starred Jennifer Winget. Soon after the show ended, he shifted his attention towards OTT to explore versatile characters. He has been part of fiction and non-fiction shows like Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Nach Baliye 5, Bigg Boss 7, and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 5.
