I don’t enjoy watching reels or checking updates on social media, it is very cringy: Abrar Qazi

Abrar Qazi, who is currently seen playing Rudra in Yeh Hai Chahatein, admits he does not enjoy watching reels or checking people’s updates on social media.

He says, “Earlier there used to be TikTok and people would dance and do all sorts of silly things! Now, people on Instagram have started doing the same and honestly it is very cringy. The content is quite meaningless and I don’t know why people make such reels. I don’t enjoy watching or making such reels. I will never be able to do that.”
Many feel social media presence is a must to stay relevant. But he doesn’t agree with that. “I don’t understand why reels are necessary to stay relevant or be in the limelight. If people are getting paid for it, good for them, but I don’t understand the concept ” he says.

Talking about his decision to take up a TV show, he says, “When you relocate to a big city like Mumbai and want to establish yourself, finances are very important. I wanted to earn money and become stable, so I took up Gathbandhan and then Yeh Hai Chahatein came my way. I feel it is better to take up different offers than wait for one big film. Besides, the lines between mediums are getting blurred and actors who are doing TV do land good opportunities in films.”

On the personal front, Abrar misses his family in Kashmir, and has hardly been able to see them due to his hectic work schedule. He says, “While doing a TV show, life gets hectic because we hardly have a bank of episodes, and scripts keep changing because of ratings.
